Mr. Ainsworth had a foundation made from the local Quarry at the front of the lot where it presently is and moved the house on to it and added the west wing. All this took place from 1900 to 1902. (Note: the main part is the 1869 schoolhouse and is timber frame constructed and the west wing added in 1902 is conventional framed). Mr. Ainsworth resided in the added wing, put a grocery store in the school part and rented the upstairs over the Grocery as a men's club.
